‘Is today a good day to die?’ Theodore Finch The first line of the book is immediately an attention grabber
But I adore ‘All the Bright Places’ much more and feel a stronger bond with the characters, Violet and Finch. People may compare this to ‘ The Fault in Our Stars’ By John Green due to the similar storylines. I have never cried and felt so many emotions for a set of characters in the books I’ve read. Let me just start out by saying this book is incredibly moving and not for the faint-hearted.
Violet Markey lives for the future, counting the days until graduation when she can escape her Indiana town and her aching grief in the wake of her sister’s recent death. But each time, something good, no matter how small, stops him. Theodore Finch is fascinated by death, and he constantly thinks of ways he might kill himself.
